HGL social worker contacted local authorities of Bugesera
District to get the list of teen mothers living in desperate conditions. The counseling session took also a three-month
period whereby the facilitator had discussion with the entire group (Group
Counseling), but also individual session.
The
group discussion facilitator intended to jointly share and find out the manner
to overcome the traumatic situation they live in. On the other hand, the
facilitator had an individual discussion with each one of the member group to
fix the way to enhance her thoughts about her future and social development.
Similarly,
a counseling session was provided to the parents of the beneficiaries, so as to
strengthen parental and family relations with the somehow rejected children
In
line with its core business related to the protection of rights of vulnerable
children, especially those who live in streets, the organization Hope for a
Good Life (HGL) proceeded activities for the rehabilitation of three street
children namely IRADUKUNDA Thierry, NICYORIBERA Samson and NIDUFASHA Concorde.
These young boys whose families live in Rweru Sector, Bugesera District had
already passed more than four years, completely separated with their families.
After a previous three-month session of psychosocial support and counseling, parents and children agreed to reunite with their respective families. Upon reunification consent, according to its policy, HGL provided those families with some basic necessities, including food, soap, clothes and Medical Care insurance,..
